IC INFORMATION

Canon: Pokémon
Canon Point: After X/Y, before Legends: Z-A

CRAU: No.
Character Appearance: Here.
Powers and Abilities:
- Immortality (so he probably won't age in game but he absolutely can be killed)

Other than that he doesn't really have any abilities to speak of. He's got strategic knowledge from being a Pokémon trainer and from being a king, he's also wandered the world for a few thousand years so he has general knowledge about the world, its history, and how it works.
What Did Your Character Wish For? Freedom from war for Kalos.
What Potion Did They Receive? Scarlet
Did They Drink It? Yes
If Yes, What Element/Animal? Fire

Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon, or who is someone they miss the most and why?
Eternal Flower Floette! He was so angry when she left that he basically nuked the entirety of fantasy France in order to vent his anger. He sacrificed countless Pokémon's life energies to power the machine in the first place. If there were any other people in his way I can't imagine that he didn't do something terrible to them either in his rage. The two of them were basically inseparable from the time she was given to him by his mother and the time she was dragged off to war.

2. What are they most afraid of and why?
His own anger, really. He's ashamed and heartbroken over what he did to Kalos. It's a tragedy that he has to bear, and that he's borne for thousands of years. He's also terrified of anyone else using the weapon or pieces of the weapon, which is why he held onto the key for so long. Lysandre's actions remind him of himself, and he's aware that the man won't be dissuaded by words which is why he lets him capture him.

3. What are their emotional, mental, and physical weaknesses and why?
His emotional weaknesses involve being consumed by anger when he does have it - it takes a lot to get going but far more to stop. He also is a bit too soft-hearted, especially for a king. His mental weaknesses involve having no sort of mental defenses against anything, but also getting so obsessive into something that he doesn't or won't see other solutions. Physically, he's very tall - which can be a problem - and he seems to have a bad knee to the point where he needs a leg brace for it.

4. What discrepancies are there between their inner self (who they feel they are) and their outer self (how they present themselves to others)?
AZ has had enough time to understand himself, and so I don't think there's a lot of differences. I think he blames himself for a lot more than others do, despite him really... carrying a lot of blame for what he's done. He's not exactly a good guy and he knows it. Other than that though I suspect he does still have a little bit of that kingly arrogance in the back of his mind, but he kind of presents like a giant wet cat.

5. What would make them happiest and why?
Honestly just spending time with Floette. He's spent so much time wandering and yearning for her return that he really just wants to spend time with her again. He's gotten over a lot of his malice towards other humans so he's kind of starting to reach out to people again, but he really doesn't know what would make him happy. Really he probably would just be happy with a campsite, some basic food, and his Floette.

And also apparently opening a hotel. We'll see how that works out when Legends Z-A comes out.

6. What characteristics does someone need to have to be your character's ideal significant other?
Let's go best friend because he really is not the romance kind of guy. He's the sort of person who is very shy and takes a while to open up - he can take charge in a situation if he has to, but he'd prefer his friend to do it for him. He needs someone who is going to be patient, kind, and understanding. They really need to understand grief if they're going to look past the "blasted the entire region" thing. He needs someone willing to either be quiet alongside him or not mind filling the space left by his silence, and someone willing to drag him to social things so he can break out of his shell.

7. Would your character make a sacrifice to save someone else and why or why not?
Ahahahahahah - Okay but really, he already has. He sacrificed countless Pokémon in order to bring Floette back, and if grief struck him that horribly again he would probably lose himself in grief again. If he would sacrifice himself is another question, which is still probably 'yes'. It'd have to be someone he really cared about, though. He's not exactly close to many people, but if he does get that close he's basically a friend for life. ... Their life, since, you know. Immortal.

8. What is one thing they would tell their younger self if they had the chance, or if your character is young, what is one thing they would want their older self to remember?
Can I just say "don't do it" and finish the question?

But really, he would absolutely warn his younger self not to destroy the entire region. Yes, he was full of grief but there had to be another way. And besides that... she didn't ask to be resurrected, and was very angry when she found out what he did. And her anger really wasn't worth it. Neither was living for thousands of years. There had to be another way to end the war, maybe even to bring her back.

9. When in dire circumstances does your character fight, flee, freeze or fawn and how does that look?
He flees, since he's really not a fighter. At least most of the time. If he's trapped he freezes, and if he's truly moved by emotions he'll find a way to fight. He will absolutely not fawn, however. He was a king and remembers being a king and will not bow to anyone else. He's also aware that buttering someone up doesn't usually work out well in the end. He overall is very aware that he can't do much in a rough situation - his Pokémon might be able to, but he absolutely can't.

10. Why did your character make the wish they did?
He never wants Kalos to get in another war again. He's aware the world is a lot calmer now (other than whatever war happened within memory, since Kanto was in one) but he doesn't put it past people to start breaking down and fighting again. He's hopeful that the next generation will have a better chance at not fighting, but he's seen it happen over and over and over again. He doesn't want it. And if it does happen, leave Kalos out of it. It's suffered enough at his own hands. Don't make it worse.
